NewRank tracking, listing scores and MCP — all live

Your app is invisible on the App Storeandnobody is looking

Most tools gradeyour listing.Overt writes it.

Every other ASO tool hands you a score and a list of complaints. Overt reads your rank history, your competitors’ metadata and the gaps between them, then generates the title, subtitle and keyword field it would ship.

Three ranked candidates. One line of reasoning each. Character counts already checked against Apple’s limits.

03Ranks

Every keyword.Every market.Every day.

Organic search position tracked daily across the storefronts you actually ship in — not a weekly average, not a sample.

Movement is the signal. Overt shows you what climbed, what slipped, and which keyword you are one edit away from owning.

Hover any point for that day’s position and what it moved.

Rank is a position, so the line climbing means the number falling. #9 beats #71.

The hollow marker below the axis on 26 Jun is a day the app was checked and not found in the top 200 — a real reading, so the line breaks rather than inventing one. It sits off the ranked scale because absence is not a position.

04Listing

Know how strongyour listingreally is.

Title, description, screenshots, reputation and how recently you shipped — each scored against what measurably moves conversion in App Store search.

Where the data is missing, Overt says so rather than inventing a number.

05Competitors

Watch what theychange, the daythey change it.

Metadata diffs on the apps you compete with, captured daily. See the exact moment a competitor rewrites a subtitle or swaps a screenshot.

And the keywords they rank for that you do not.

06Agents

Or skip thedashboardentirely.

Overt speaks the Model Context Protocol, so Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients can drive it directly. Ask “what am I ranking for?” or “track this app and watch these five keywords” in plain English, in the tool you already have open.

19 of the 20 tools work on every plan including Free: search, listing scores, rank history, keyword difficulty, tracking and competitor changes. Rewriting a listing from your agent is on Pro and above.

09 — FAQ

Questions worth
answering before
you have to ask.

Where does the App Store data come from?+

Apple's own public iTunes Search and Lookup endpoints — the same JSON API the App Store's search box calls. No App Store Connect access, no scraping, and nothing that needs your developer credentials.

How often are ranks updated?+

Daily on Pro and Growth. Weekly on Free. Every check runs against Apple's live results, never a cached estimate.

Why does search sometimes ask me to slow down?+

Apple's public endpoints allow roughly 20 requests a minute, undocumented and shared across every visitor to Overt at once — not per account. That budget is what runs daily rank checks for every paying customer, so search is rate-limited per visitor to stop one burst of typing from starving everyone else's ranks that day.

What's a generation credit?+

One credit is spent each time you run "Write me a better listing" to completion. Free accounts get 5 a month; Pro and Growth get more. A failed generation refunds its credit automatically — you are never charged for our error.

What do I actually get on the free plan?+

The strongest candidate, in full — a complete title, subtitle and store description you could ship today. What paid plans add is optionality: two more candidate variants to choose between, and the keyword field, which is the part Apple indexes but never shows a user.

Do you need my App Store Connect credentials?+

No, and you should be suspicious of anyone doing ASO work who asks for them. Overt reads only public storefront data — everything anyone can already see on the App Store.

What is outcome tracking?+

When you mark a generated candidate as the one you actually shipped, Overt compares your tracked keywords' average rank in the seven days before against the days since — so you can see whether the change worked, not just what it said.

Why is the keyword field locked on Free?+

It's the 100 bytes Apple indexes for search but never displays to a user, so it is the field with the most direct effect on ranking. Title, subtitle and description are unlocked on every plan because they are also what a visitor reads.

Can I track competitors?+

Yes — 5 on Pro, 20 on Growth. Overt snapshots each one's listing daily and tells you the day a competitor changes their title, subtitle, price, screenshots, or icon.

How many apps can I track?+

1 on Free, 3 on Pro, 10 on Growth — each with its own keywords and competitors.

Is there a time limit on the free plan?+

No card and no expiry. It exists so you can judge whether Overt is useful before paying for it, not as a trial that runs out.

Can I use Overt from Claude or Cursor?+

Yes. Overt runs a Model Context Protocol server, so any MCP client can search the App Store, score a listing, track apps and keywords, and read your rank history — by asking in plain English. Create an API key under Settings, paste the config into your client, and it works on every plan including Free. Generating metadata from an agent needs a paid plan; on Free that stays in the dashboard, where your allowance is unchanged.

What happens if the AI writes something over Apple's character limits?+

Every field is measured after generation, not trusted from the model's output — Structured Outputs guarantees shape, not length. Anything over Apple's limit is flagged in the interface. It is never silently shipped over budget.
